Jack Wilshere has been charged with misconduct by the FA after Sunday's celebratory bus tour.

The England midfielder led a series of chants mocking local rivals Tottenham as Arsenal players celebrated their FA Cup Final win with a open-top bus tour through north London.

Wilshere's chants were laden with expletives and continued an ongoing feud with Spurs fans. The midfielder took to Twitter to say sorry for his comments, writing: "Sharing back2back Cup wins with so many amazing Gooners is a dream come true. Apologies if I upset or offended any of u with my celebrations."

However it seems his contrition was not enough and he will now have until 6pm on June 10 to respond to the charge.

An FA statement said: "It is alleged his conduct in making and/or inciting certain comments during the club’s open bus trophy tour was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute."
