AFC Wimbledon could hand debuts to new signings Marcus Forss, Max Sanders and Ryan Delaney as they seek a first win of the season at bitter rivals MK Dons on Saturday.

The trio trained this week and Wimbledon boss Wally Downes is hopeful they will give his struggling side a much-needed boost.

“They’ve got a good chance to get into the side. I’m hoping all three will be pushing for places,” Downes said.

Anthony Wordsworth is also closing in on a return, although tomorrow may come too soon for the midfielder following an Achilles injury.

MK Dons were 4-2 winners on penalties when the sides met last month in the Carabao Cup after an entertaining 2-2 draw.

MK Dons boss Paul Tisdale admits the ninth meeting between the clubs cannot be treated as an ordinary match, given their shared history.

He said: “The people around it and on the periphery make it a different game. We have to prepare like it is just another game but it isn’t.”
