Barnet boosted as Edgar Davids agrees to stay

Edgar Davids will remain at Barnet as head coach despite the club's relegation from the Football League.

The former Holland international (above) joined Barnet 11 games into the season with the club having picked up just three points but despite an impressive turnaround in results was unable to rescue his side from the drop into the Conference Premier.

Based on the results under Davids alone, Barnet would have been pushing for the play-offs.

The 40-year-old had initially suggested his future lay away from the new ground in Edgware.

But chairman Tony Kleanthous said today: “I am thrilled that Edgar has decided to remain with the club.

"He has started a football revolution here and we hope we can maintain the attractive style of play we developed under him in the Football League.

"It is a measure of the man that he wants to stay to finish the job he started. Once a bee always a bee!"
