Borussia Dortmund chiefs will review a players’ trip to the hairdressers ahead of their Champions League defeat to Tottenham, though CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke insists it had no impact on their performance.

A stunning second half from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, sparked by Heung-min Son’s goal just 66 seconds after the restart, at Wembley on Wednesday means Spurs take a 3-0 lead to Dortmund in March.

Reports in Germany have claimed that a number of first team players took a trip to the barbers ahead of the game which has caused criticism in the press at home and the club will now take a closer look.

"It certainly has no influence on a team's performance,” Watzke told Bild. “There are sporting reasons for our defeat, and we need to analyse them.

"It's clear the defeat also leads to a critical media view of the hairdresser's visit. And that's why [sporting director] Michael Zorc and [squad manager] Sebastian Kehl will review this with the players."

Dortmund were also ever so slightly delayed when leaving for London after Jadon Sancho forgot his passport ahead of their flight.

“Dortmund isn't a big city so it doesn't take long to get it,” midfielder Thomas Delaney said ahead of the game. “We had 17 mins delay, it might cost a bit but we didn't notice.”
