‘Heroes that achieved the impossible’ - How the European press reacted to Barcelona’s stunning comeback

After a long night of celebration in Barcelona, the club’s players awoke to headlines that announced them “heroes” whose epic comeback against Paris Saint-Germain had achieved “the impossible”.

In France, L’Equipe declared PSG conceding three goals in the last seven minutes to Luis Enrique’s team simply “unspeakable”.

Reflecting on his side’s achievement after the match, coach Enrique said it was a night that ‘no kid in Barcelona will ever forget’.

He said: “This is a sport for crazy people, a unique sport. Any kid who was in the Camp Nou tonight will never forget this in their life. It was a torrent of feelings.

"I don’t cry – I would like to, but the tears don’t come out. But I enjoyed this as much as the rest; as much as those who cried.”
