Aleksandar Mitrovic says Fulham must try to win their remaining five matches as they chase Cardiff City in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Fulham closed the gap on second-placed Cardiff to just two points with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Cardiff lost 1-0 to Wolves on Friday and Fulham will look to turn up the pressure on their rivals when they play Reading at Craven Cottage.

Cardiff, who have a game in hand over Fulham, are away at Aston Villa.

Mitrovic, who scored the winner against Sheffield Wednesday and now has nine goals since he joined on loan from Newcastle, said: “We are very happy, but we don’t have time to celebrate.

“Every game until the end of the season is a final. We have to go out there with this mentality to try and win every game. It is going to be hard. It will not be easy but that is the Championship and that is why this league is really interesting. We have to stay hungry, to keep fighting and we will see what is going to happen.”
