Charlton players will refund supporters who travelled to their humiliating 5-0 defeat at Huddersfield.

Captain Johnnie Jackson has pledged to compensate fans with the cost of their ticket after what he described as a “disgraceful” performance.

Charlton are without a win in 10 games and Karel Fraeye seems set to lose his job as interim head coach, which he has held since October.

Jackson said: “We are going to reimburse fans who travelled up to support us. I know words are cheap but on behalf of myself and the players, I want to apologise. It was disgraceful and you deserve better.

“I will arrange this with the club and they will let you know how to be refunded.”
