Jose Mourinho insisted he has not taken charge of his last game at Chelsea after the champions were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Ramires’ early goal gave the Blues a comfortable lead in the Premier League clash, but Philippe Coutinho proved the difference after he first equalised with a superb solo effort seconds before the end of the first half and then gave the visitors the lead with his second-half strike.

Christian Benteke came on in the latter stages of the game to seal the win with his fine shot, which handed Jurgen Klopp his first Premier League win since taking charge of the club - and Mourinho his sixth defeat of the season.

However, the Portuguese tactician, who only led Chelsea to the league title in May, insisted he will be given time to turn Chelsea's fortunes around despite the club sitting above the relegation zone.

When asked after the defeat whether he would be given the chance to try and resurrect Chelsea's season, Mourinho said: "Yes.

"I don’t think this is [my last match here].

"I have no doubt [the players want to play for me.] There were a maximum of a couple of [under-par performances]."

He added: "What feeds me is the recognition of our work and that is getting results. I have players who are really sad and I am full of respect for them but we’ll see match after match as professionals, they are not getting the respect they deserve.

"I don’t think we are going to have a great Saturday dinner even the families for sure, they have the same feelings that we have. I am really, really sorry that we have the lack of respect."

When asked about how he planned to spend the rest of the weekend, Mourinho said: "I go home. I see my family, I will try and watch the rugby and disconnect a little bit from this and then I will start preparing the training session tomorrow morning and next week."
