AC Milan will "do everything" to sign Fikayo Tomori permanently from Chelsea, says honorary vice-president Franco Baresi.

The defender is enjoying life in Serie A, having joined on loan in January, quickly establishing himself as key to the Rossoneri with 12 appearances.

Milan are able to make the move permanent for around £25million - with Milan director Ricky Massara revealing in January that the club had to "fight" with Chelsea for the option.

"We’ll do everything to sign him on a permanent deal," Baresi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Two months are remaining until the end of the season, and it’s not only up to Milan.

“Tomori is imposing himself with talent and determination. He has shown no fear to play in a new league. Potentially, he can become a great champion. I hope he lives up to expectations.”

Milan were top of Serie A when Tomori arrived but have seen been overtaken by rivals Inter.
