Chelsea have confirmed that Ola Aina will spend the 2017-18 season on loan at Hull under the tutelage of former Russia head coach Leonid Slutsky.

Aina, 20, made two Premier League appearances for Antonio Conte's side last season after graduating from the academy, and also featured three times in 2016-17 cup competitions.

The loan deal comes as little surprise with Slutsky confirming he has been in talks with compatriot and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich about taking a number of Stamford Bridge youngsters on loan as the Tigers aim for promotion straight back to the Premier League.

A statement on Chelsea's website read: "Ola Aina has today joined Hull City on loan for the 2017-18 season.

"Aina, 20, will link up with the Championship side to further his first-team experience having been a member of our title-winning squad last season.

"The highly rated defender made his Chelsea debut in the League Cup win over Bristol Rovers at Stamford Bridge last September and went on to play six times in total during a memorable campaign.

"At Academy level, Aina helped us lift three FA Youth Cups and two UEFA Youth Leagues."
