Chelsea have submitted a planing application for the expansion of Stamford Bridge.
The ground's current capacity is 41,600 but the Blues hope to boost that figure to 60,000, which would see the stadium become the fourth biggest in the capital behind the Emirates, Wembley and Tottenham's new ground.
The updated arena has been designed to offer an 'outstanding' view from every seat while an emphasis has also been placed on creating an 'exciting atmosphere' for fans.
Plans for direct access to Fulham Broadway tube station to ensure supporters can travel to and from games more efficiently have also been detailed in the proposal.
The club's application will now be examined by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham before a decision on whether the development can take place is made.

Chelsea have advised fans that the process will last beyond the end of the current season and various other consents will need to be obtained before the project can begin.
A council statement read: "The council has received a full planning application to build a new football stadium within Stamford Bridge Grounds.
"The application comprises the demolition of the existing football stadium which has a capacity of 41,600 seats and other buildings within the ground, and the construction of a new larger football stadium with a 60,000 seat capacity.
"Other features include ancillary stadium-related uses including a club shop and museum, plus a separate restaurant/café use.
"The new stadium involves both excavation works and the construction of new external concourse areas.
"This includes the formation of decking platforms over part of the District Line and part of the Southern mainline railway.
"New pedestrian access arrangements on match days would be provided from Fulham Broadway Station and Fulham Road. New vehicular access would be provided via Wansdown Place."
