Chelsea are in talks with Marseille and France keeper Steve Mandanda about becoming their new back-up keeper.

As Standard Sport revealed in April, Conte wants to keep Thibaut Courtois as first choice and is happy to sell Asmir Begovic, who joined from Stoke for £8m last year but failed to dethrone Courtois.

The Blues will only sell Begovic if they secure a suitable replacement and Mandanda has been identified as a satisfactory candidate.

The 31-year-old's current deal at Marseille runs out next month and he is keen on a move away from Ligue 1.

“Abroad would be something good at 31,” he said after Marseille suffered defeat in last month's French Cup final.

“It would be a nice adventure on both a sporting and a personal level. The two leagues that interest me most are the Premier League and La Liga.”

Mandanda has been Marseille's No 1 for nine seasons following his move from Le Havre and won the Ligue 1 title in 2010.
