Jose Mourinho made six changes to the Chelsea side as they welcomed Maccabi Tel Aviv to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday following a disappointing start to the Premier League season.

The Portuguese boss named Loic Remy up front in place of Diego Costa, while Reuben Loftus-Cheek was handed a start as Nemanja Matic dropped to the bench.

The Serb was forced to settle for a place among the substitutes alongside John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic, whose position at right-back was taken by Cesar Azpilicueta as Abdul Baba Rahman made his debut on the left side.

Cesc Fabregas dropped back to partner Loftus Cheek as Willian and Oscar were brought into the forward three behind the striker and Gary Cahill was named in a central defensive partnership with Kurt Zouma after missing the defeat to Everton.

Chelsea: Begovic; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Cahill (c), Baba Rahman; Loftus-Cheek, Fabregas; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Remy.

Blackman, Terry, Ivanovic, Ramires, Matic, Traore, Diego Costa.
