Cristian Stellini says Tottenham must improve their “personality” following Monday’s disappointing draw at Everton.

For the second time in as many games, Spurs dropped points despite leading a side battling relegation late on after Michael Keane’s stunning goal had cancelled out Harry Kane’s penalty at Goodison Park.

The result takes Spurs back into fourth but they have played two more games than both Manchester United and Newcastle.

Stellini was overseeing his first game since being placed in interim charge after Antonio Conte’s departure.

Just over two weeks after Conte’s outburst at Southampton in which he branded his players “selfish” and questioned their desire to play under pressure, Stellini spoke of needing to change the mentality.

"[Personality] is something we have to improve,” he said.

“It’s something we have to work on. It’s not an easy thing to do because obviously you need time to do it. It’s a long process but we have to continue the process we had before.”
