James McArthur hopes his form has presented Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew with a selection dilemma following Mile Jedinak’s return from the Asian Cup.

Palace skipper Jedinak was due to return to training today after a month away on international duty.

Jedinak captained Australia to Asian Cup success but a new central midfield partnership has been established in his absence.

McArthur and Joe Ledley have started every Premier League game since his departure and helped Palace to three wins in four games under Alan Pardew.

McArthur said: “He [Jedinak] is the skipper, he is the leader, but the manager has got a decision to make.

“All every player can do is keep playing well and trying to make it hard for the manager to leave him out.

“You just need to keep playing well and trying to stay in the team. We have got a great squad and competition for places can only be good for the team.”

Yannick Bolasie is on his way back to Palace following DR Congo’s exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
