Danny Rose says he would love nothing more than to play in front of Tottenham's fans again as speculation over his immediate future mounts.

Rose, who spent the second half of the 2019-20 season on loan at Newcastle, has previously said his days at Tottenham are "numbered" and opened the door to a longer stay at St, James' Park.

The 28-year-old said the Premier League restart represented a chance to fight for his future with just 12 months left on his Spurs deal. But that doesn't necessarily mean Rose is trying to win the attention of potential suitors.

Instead, he hopes he has done enough to play under Jose Mourinho next term before reassessing his options next summer, when he is due to become a free agent.

Rose said: "I am very happy to stay at Tottenham and see my last 10 or 11 months out, I would love to.

"There is nothing I want more than to play one more time in front of the fans."
