David Beckham's move to Paris over

David Beckham: the star midfielder will not be joining up with Carlo Ancelotti

David Beckham will not be linking up with Carlo Ancelotti at big-spending Paris St Germain.

The former England captain looks likely to sign a new contract with LA Galaxy after PSG sporting director Leonardo said: "It's over. It's a shame.

"But the welfare of his family in Los Angeles, the wish not not to change everything in his life, weighed heavily."

Leonardo denied Ancelotti has had anything to do with Beckham's apparent change of heart.

"It is not the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti that has changed everything," said the Brazilian.

Beckham, who moved to California five years ago, was thought to be keen on a move to Europe as he prepares to lead the British team at the Olympics.
