David Moyes believes that his personality is strong enough to cope as the manager of West Ham, regardless of the strong personalities already present in the London Stadium boardroom.

Moyes was talking ahead of his side’s trip to the south-coast on Saturday when they face Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

The Hammers manager has been in charge for just over three months now and he believes that he has the experience and the strength to direct the club in the way he feels is beneficial.

West Ham’s board has a significant public presence, most notably David Sullivan, David Gold and Karren Brady. When asked about the situation, the new boss believed that he has more than enough to hold his own in the job.

“They’ve got a big personality as a manager, who’s going to make sure we do things right, and do it in the right order, and hopefully the right process,” Moyes told reporters.

“That might put a few noses out of joint to start with, but I like to do things in a structured fashion, the way I have done over the years which I think I’ve been successful.

“I hope that in time - at the moment I’m only interested in staying up being in a short term contract - they would see those factors as being important and something which West Ham could do with.”

The former Manchester United and Everton manager was also asked whether he thinks there is a great deal of noise surrounding the club in general.

He said: “Yeah, yeah I’m learning that, you know. I don’t think that I’ve ever been linked with as many players at other clubs.

“I think it’s a big, big club in London. I think it’s also a club that has grown, because you know they’ve got a new stadium, and all the things that go with it.

“We’re obviously trying to catch up with one or two other big clubs, so I think for that reason its maybe a talked about club all the time.”
