We may be in the middle of Euro 2016 but the transfer rumour mill is whirring along nicely in the background.

With Premier League clubs set to have huge sums of money to spend this summer - as usual - fans would have been foolish to expect a quiet couple of months.

Crystal Palace have joined the party early and completed the signing of Andros Townsend from Newcastle United earlier this morning.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are yet to delve into the transfer market but have confirmed the departures of both Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato.

Diego Costa could be heading for the Stamford Bridge exit too after he reportedly 'demanded' a £40m move return to Atletico Madrid.

The 27-year-old is said to be keen to link up with Diego Simeone at the Vicente Calderon with talks between the two clubs scheduled for next week.

Another striker facing an uncertain future is Liverpool's Christian Benteke. The big Belgian has struggled for game time at Anfield and is said to be willing to consider a switch to Selhurst Park.

Elsewhere, Paul Pogba is reportedly close to joining Manchester United in an £80m deal.

Such a sum would smash the British transfer record and prove that Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to let the midfielder leave Old Trafford for free in 2012 was a very costly one.
