Jose Mourinho has called on Chelsea striker Diego Costa to start reading the game properly and help his teammates in attack, but insisted there are no problems between the pair.

Mourinho and Costa were seen arguing at half-time of Chelsea's Champions League game away to Maccabi Tel Aviv in midweek - which the Blues won 4-0 - before the Chelsea boss later revealed he had been unhappy with the Spain international's movement during the match.

Costa has struggled to replicate his scintillating form from last season and has scored just four goals in all competitions for the champions this term, although he did net the winner in Chelsea's 1-0 victory over Norwich City last weekend.

But Mourinho has said the goal does not mean Costa is back to his best and called on the striker to improve his reading of the game to help his teammates in attack when not on the ball.

"He is not reading the game properly in these actions. That was my opinion," Mourinho said.

"As a striker he must read. You have to play not when you have the ball, but when others have the ball.

"You have to anticipate things and read the game faster. Everything is an accumulation.

"You're not on fire again just because you've scored a goal against Norwich. It's a process."

Speaking about his relationship with the striker, Mourinho added: "Everything is okay, no problem. In the game I told him, from a distance, that I was not happy with the movement he did.

"He also told me a few nice words from where he was. And nothing happened, nothing happened at half-time."
