Dougie Freedman lays building block

Another goalless draw may have had the Crystal Palace supporters yawning in boredom but Dougie Freedman believes his side are not that far from clicking.

Since being appointed manager three weeks ago, the Scot has worked on getting the defence right.

After a 0-0 draw with Bristol City the previous weekend, Palace drew another blank on Saturday when they faced Norwich - a notable point given that the Canaries are among the pacesetters in the Championship.

Freedman is optimistic his side can build on that, claiming they just need a little more composure in attack.

"It's fantastic to get a point," he said. "They are a top-six team and will be up there at the end of the season. We are fighting for our lives and the lads showed that. We're just inches off making that final decision or final pass."
