Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised Mauricio Pochettino for the "outstanding job" he has done at Tottenham.
Pochettino took charge at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2014, charged with securing a return to the top four.
The Argentine coach succeeded in his second year at the club and, with Spurs currently seven points adrift of leaders Chelsea, remains on the fringes of this season's title race.
A key reason behind Pochettino's success in N17 lies with a willingness to promote youth and Howe is adamant his managerial rival deserves credit for such principles.
“He has done an outstanding job. It isn’t just the results he has achieved, it is his style of play and the way he conducts himself," Howe insisted.
“He is a level-headed guy who concentrates on improving players. I have a lot of respect for anyone who devotes their life to that.”
Bournemouth travel to Spurs this weekend aiming to end the north Londoners' stellar home record.
Pochettino's side are undefeated in 16 games on their own patch this season while the Cherries have won just two games on their travels.
A point would represent a respectable result for the visitors but Howe is adamant his players will not be set up to draw at White Hart Lane.
"They probably do present the biggest challenge in the Premier League. If you look at their recent record, it will be really tough examination for us," Howe added.
“But we can fall back on the games we have played recently, the matches at Liverpool and Southampton.
“We aim to win, regardless of who we play or where we play. That is how we prepare. We don’t prepare to draw, we prepare to win.”
