Eden Hazard has confirmed he will sign a new Chelsea contract once Thibaut Courtois has extended his deal.

Hazard's current Chelsea deal runs until 2020 and the Blues are prepared to offer him a contract worth £300,000-a-week to keep their star man at the club long-term.

The Belgium international is a target of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and was again linked with a summer move to the Bernabeu earlier in January.

But the player, who was speaking at the NBA clash between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers in London on Thursday, has rubbished those reports and insists he is set to extend his Stamford Bridge stay.

“Yes,” Hazard told Mirror Football when asked if he would a new Chelsea contract. “I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign.”

Courtois's contract expires in 2019 and the Chelsea goalkeeper recently reassured anxious fans that he expects to extend his stay at the club.

He added: “Do Eden and I encourage each other to sign? Yes. He will say ‘if you sign, I will sign’ and I say the same to him!"
