Emmanuel Frimpong given nod to make Ghana debut

Emmanuel Frimpong has been included in Ghana’s squad for the World Cup qualifier against Sudan on March 24.

It is the first international call-up for the former England youth player (above), who is on loan at Fulham from Arsenal, after he switched his allegiance from England, where he grew up, to Ghana, where he was born.

There was no place for former Fulham defender John Paintsil, arrested in Accra last month for allegedly attacking his wife, although the charges have since been dropped.

Former Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari has been recalled.
