Wales Player Ratings: Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey the star as Dragons beat Belgium to reach Euro 2016 semi-finals

1/24

Chris Coleman's men are through to the Euro 2016 semi-finals after the most famous night in Welsh football history, not only beating Belgium but doing so in style.

Their first major finals since the 1958 World Cup has been a dream, with the principality now looking forward to a semi-final against Portugal.

Wales showed no little skill, spirit and strength in Lille to upset the odds and secure a magnificent 3-1 quarter-final victory against much-fancied Belgium.

Coleman's side started nervously at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and things looked to be going awry when Radja Nainggolan scored an exceptional early drive, yet they responded manfully and levelled through captain Ashley Williams.

Here are the player ratings as Wales created history...

Wayne Hennessey: No chance with the Radja Nainggolan wonder strike which fizzed past him, but remained pretty solid and dealt with everything well. 7/10.

Chris Gunter: Had his hands full with the tricky Eden Hazard and was booked, but it did not stop him getting forward to aid Welsh attacks and set up Sam Vokes' clincher. 7

James Chester: Another strong display at the back from the central defender who has had an excellent tournament. Never switched off. 7

Ashley Williams: Played through the pain barrier after damaging his shoulder against Northern Ireland and will never forget precious goal. 8

Ben Davies: Knew early booking would rule him out of a potential semi-final, but kept his composure to keep Belgium out after early goal. 8

Neil Taylor: Provided plenty of energy and width from his left wing-back station and would have had second goal of tournament but for fine Thibaut Courtois stop. 7

Joe Allen: Misplaced pass led to Belgium goal, but composure in the heat of the midfield gave Wales a platform to which they could spring from. 7

Joe Ledley: Vital cog in the Wales machine as he got through a huge amount of work and protected the back four before withdrawn in final quarter. 7

Aaron Ramsey: Tremendous tournament continued as he claimed two more assists to take his total to four. Booking rules him out of semi-final. 9

Gareth Bale: Ruffled Belgian feathers every time he ran at their inexperienced defence. No goal this time but did not hide from defensive duties either. 8

Hal Robson-Kanu: Preferred to Vokes for his extra mobility and he occupied his markers well before scoring sensational second goal. 8

Substitutes

Andy King (for Ledley, 68mins): Asked to fill more defensive role than he is used to but slotted in seamlessly. 7

Sam Vokes (for Robson-Kanu, 80mins): Sent on to hold the ball up, but produced great header for third goal. 8
