'Everyone can beat everyone' - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger still has sights set on league title

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal remain in the Premier League title picture because Saturday's results proved that 'everyone can beat everybody'.

For the majority of the season, the Gunners have maintained a charge for their first league title since 2004, but recent results have dashed hopes of getting their hands on the trophy.

A 6-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge last week followed up by a disappointing 2-2 draw at home to struggling Swansea left Arsenal off the pace.

But a spirited comeback draw at home to Manchester City after Chelsea lost earlier on Saturday at Crystal Palace gave Wenger reason to remain confident ahead of the run-in.

"What happened to Chelsea doesn't help us because it doesn't give us more points," he told reporters. "It just shows that we have absolutely to fight until the end of the season because everyone can beat everybody.

The north Londoners remain five points off Chelsea, who were ruled out of the title race by manager Jose Mourinho after defeat at Selhurst Park.

Wenger continued: "Mathematically we are still in there but it is not in our hands. You cannot say it is just depending on us, it's not realistic maybe to say that.

"We have been consistent since the start of the season. Maybe, if you've never played at that level, it's difficult to explain the mental insecurity that is in every single team after one or two bad results.

"For example, you have Real Madrid, who went 30 games unbeaten and lost in the big game [4-3 to Barcelona in the Clasico] and lost the game after [to Sevilla] because the disappointment is so difficult to deal with, the pressure that is behind the team after big bad results. It's easy for nobody."
