Tottenham full-back Kieran Trippier has revealed he already feels at home at his new club as the north London side secured a 4-0 friendly win against Southend United on Saturday.

Trippier joined Spurs from Burnley in June after signing a five-year deal with the north London side, and made his first appearance for the club in their victory over Southend, which took place behind closed doors.

After featuring in the game alongside fellow summer signing Kevin Wimmer, Trippier said he had enjoyed bonding with his new colleagues and was aiming to keep working hard to prepare for the upcoming Premier League season.

When asked what he had got out of the win on Saturday, the 24-year-old right-back told Spurs TV: "Fitness, for one.

"It's good to always get back and play games. [It was a] good win today. Fitness is the most important thing and I look forward to the next one [game]."

Trippier was also asked how important it was to be playing with his new teammates, to which he replied: "It's massive.

"Bonding with the teammates is massive. It's been a good week. Everyone at the club has made me feel at home. To know my teammates and their positions is vital."

"It's going to be another tough week," he added.

"We want to be prepared for the first league game of the season and it starts on the training pitch."

The 4-0 win over Southend saw Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb and youngsters Josh Onomah and Nathan Oduwa all get on the score-sheet at Hotspur Way.
