Experienced Terrell Forbes ready for Premier League test

Good impression: Terrell Forbes
Ian Gibb11 April 2012

Terrell Forbes first caught the eye when he cancelled out the potential of Manchester United's Luke Chadwick in an academy match at West Ham's training ground.

The skilful central defender who reads the game well, had the much-vaunted prospect in his pocket and, now 29, once again he is making a good impression in the East End.

Forbes, who did not cost a penny in moves to QPR, Grimsby, Oldham, Yeovil and now Leyton Orient, can still do a job in League One. He came up with a rare goal - only his second in 397 League appearances - in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Southampton and tonight turns his attentions to Premier League West Brom in the Carling Cup at Brisbane Road.

"We'll go into the West Brom game with higher confidence now," said Forbes. "The Southampton goal went in off me so I was upset and it made it sweeter to score the equaliser.'

Forbes has teamed up with his old Yeovil boss Russell Slade again and will need to do a 'Chadwick' on Peter Odemwingie or Roman Bednar if Orient are to progress.
