Florent Malouda happy to be free of Chelsea

Florent Malouda is relieved his Chelsea nightmare is finally over and admits he can’t wait to resurrect his career at another club next season.

Malouda was banished to train with the reserves for the whole of the campaign after failing to secure a transfer last summer and didn’t make one appearance for the first team.

But the 32-year-old is now free to leave Stamford Bridge because his contract has expired and a return to the French League or a move to Brazilian club is likely.

He said: "I had a problem to sort out with certain people. It's done. Now, I'm free. I'm going to be able to play again next season. I've been preparing all season long.

"I've let people speak. I'm patient and very determined. I'll be back next season. I already know where, but I'm not saying anything for the moment. Anything is possible."

Malouda joined Chelsea from Lyon for £13.5m in 2007 and went on to win five major trophies, including the Double in 2010 and was part of the squad that won the Champions League last year.
