Didier Drogba may no longer be a Chelsea player, but the legendary Blues striker still hates losing to Arsenal.

The Montreal Impact forward was one of the most well-known names in the MLS All-Stars team that lost 2-1 to Arsenal on Friday morning at the Avaya Stadium despite getting on the scoresheet.

After Joel Campbell had given the Gunners the lead through his early penalty, Drogba restored parity on the stroke of half-time although it did not end up counting as Chuba Akpom netted the winner with four minutes to go.

The goal in California is Drogba's 16th against Arsenal and, despite admitting he was happy to score against his former foes, he conceded the defeat left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"I want to help my team to win games. And I always say that the goal that I score and then we lose, for me that doesn’t count," Drogba said.

"For me it’s for fun because I scored against Petr [Cech], but the result matters more than my goal or my own performance. It’s a bit disappointing to have lost this game in the last minute.

"I hate losing. So for fun, I will have fun with Petr [Cech] because I scored. But he already killed me and said 'This time I give you the goal.' But apart from that, no, the result I’m not happy with."

When asked about his record of scoring against Arsenal, Drogba told MLS.com: "I want to say I'm lucky but when you score 16 goals against them, it's not luck anymore.

"I was happy to play with these guys, we had a good game."

Drogba later took to Instagram to thank some of his MLS All-Stars teammates, including Kaka.

"He told me come on Bro I want to celebrate your goal, I've done it bro @oficialgio @kaka and the boys!!! Was an honor to play with all of you guys."
