Former Real Madrid striker Michael Owen goes wild as Barca complete incredible Champions League comeback

Football fans across the globe were treated to a masterclass on Wednesday as Barcelona produced one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history to reach the quarter-finals.

Former England stars Gary Lineker, Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen were watching the game from the BT Sport studio and the rolling cameras captured their reactions as the events unfolded at the Nou Camp.

The Catalan giants looked dead and buried after losing the first leg 4-0 at Paris St-Germain and despite going 3-0 up at the Nou Camp, Edinson Cavani's subseqent away goal left Barca chasing three goals in the final half-hour to progress.

But the the five-time European Cup champions defied the odds to triumph, as Neymar scored a double before Sergi Roberto's fine finish in a scarcely credible seven-minute late show.

Roberto's goal deep into stoppage time ensured Barca became the first team to hit back from a first-leg 4-0 defeat in the competition's knockout stages.

“Oh my god, oh my god,” bellowed Ferdinand as Roberto's effort struck the net, before crowning Neymar the 'heir to the throne'

But it was the actions of both Lineker and Owen which fans on social media hauled into the limelight.
