Fulham manager Martin Jol will offer Clint Dempsey to Liverpool in an attempt to sign Andy Carroll on loan from under the noses of AC Milan and West Ham.

Carroll is expected to make a temporary switch away from Anfield this summer after new boss Brendan Rodgers admitted he will listen to offers for the 23-year-old.

Jol is confident that he can land his man by offering Dempsey as part of the deal. The 29-year-old American, who scored 23 goals last season, is keen to join a bigger club.

No deal will be done until Carroll returns from holiday in Brazil.

Meanwhile, Everton have set their sights on Fulham target Hugo Rodallega, who is expected to leave Wigan on a free transfer.
