Gary Neville has claimed a section of Manchester United fans applauded victorious Manchester City off following Sunday's derby victory at Old Trafford.

David Silva took advantage hesitance in the United defence at a corner to open the scoring before Marcus Rashford pounced on errors from Nicolas Otamendi and Fabian Delph to equalise.

Otamendi made amends after the break, making it a hat-trick of mistaken-ridden goals, to capitalise on Romelu Lukaku's dreadful clearance at a free-kick for the winner in a likely season-defining Manchester derby.

Pep Guardiola revelled in the victory afterwards, saying his team "played like Barcelona" and Neville agreed.

"City were a different level to United, who looked anxious," Neville said on Sky Sports.

"To come to Chelsea and here with such confidence and to dominate is impressive. Only the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have done that.

"I even saw some Manchester United fans clapping City off."

City are now 11 points clear of second-placed United in the Premier League standings, prompting Jose Mourinho to concede that the title race in "probably" over before the turn of the calendar year.
