Bayern Munich teenager Jamal Musiala has capped off a remarkable year by being named in Germany’s squad for this summer’s European Championships.

The 18-year-old, who came through the ranks at Chelsea and had played for England at under-21 level, only made his Germany debut in March.

But he has been joined in the squad for the Euros by six players plying their trade in the Premier League and the returning Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller.

Both Hummels and Muller have not played for Germany since 2018, but manager Joachim Low has recalled them for this summer’s rescheduled Euros.

The pair bring with them a wealth of experience and that will come in handy, particularly given the fact youngsters such as Musiala are in the 26-man squad.

The teenager has been joined by six Premier League players, including three from Chelsea - Antonio Rudiger, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has also been called up, as has Leeds United’s Robin Koch and Ilkay Gundogan of Manchester City.
