Simon Jordan has hinted he would welcome a takeover bid for Crystal Palace from his former sworn enemy David Gold.
The ex-Birmingham City owner is believed to be eying a takeover bid for the Championship club after ending his 16-year tenure at St Andrews.
He is keen to return to football but wants to find a club closer to his home in Surrey and Palace — who were put up for sale by Jordan over a year ago — would appear the obvious choice, although he has also been linked with Charlton and West Ham.
Jordan and Gold have enjoyed a combustible relationship. The Eagles chairman was infuriated when Birmingham lured his former manager Steve Bruce to the west midlands in 2001.
But Jordan insists the pair have now settled their differences and said: "All that stuff is in the past. But at the moment [any sale] is hypothetical. There has been no enquiry and no offer, despite the stories appearing in the media, which have all come from the David Gold camp."
