Newcastle’s relegation should ensure a hostile atmosphere which Tottenham can take advantage of to secure second place in the Premier League.

Some people have played it down but Spurs will be desperate to finish above Arsenal for the north London bragging rights.

They haven’t fallen away mentally since losing the title at Chelsea — Mauricio Pochettino has been without two of the best midfielders in the League this season and that has made the difference.

Spurs really miss Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele’s, and although they haven’t been as effective without them, they are still a top side and you would fancy them to win at St James’ Park against a team with nothing to play for under a manager who is probably going to leave.
