Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin will start Tuesday's Champions League Group D match against Borussia Dortmund, according to his team-mate Damian Emi Martinez.

The 19-year-old, who has made just one Capital One Cup appearance for the Gunners, was put on standby on Monday when Arsene Wenger revealed the club are facing a defensive injury crisis.

Wenger revealed first-choice full-back Mathieu Debuchy will miss a considerable period after sustaining ligament damage against Manchester City on Saturday.

Debuchy's obvious understudy Calum Chambers was rated at only '50/50' for the match in Dortmund, after coming down with tonsillitis, paving the way for Bellerin to make his Arsenal bow against Jurgen Klopp's charges.

And goalkeeper Martinez has suggested on social media that the Spaniard will be named in Wenger's XI for the Champions League opener.

The club's third-choice stopper took to social media and posted a message of good luck with an accompanying picture.

He tweeted: "All the best to my brother @HectorBellerin as he starts his first game for Arsenal #quality"
