Hugo Lloris is the greatest Tottenham goalkeeper of all time, according to Teddy Sheringham.
Lloris joined Spurs from Lyon in 2012 and has established himself as a key figure at White Hart Lane in recent years.
Mauricio Pochettino named the Frenchman club captain last summer and Lloris has been pivotal in helping transform Spurs into the one of the best defensive units in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has conceded just one goal from open play in England's top tier this season, prompting many to suggest he has edged ahead of David de Gea to become the division's best shot stopper.
Sheringham has lavished even more praise on Lloris and rates Tottenham's current number one higher than the likes of Pat Jennings, Ray Clemence, Bill Brown and Ted Ditchburn.
"Lloris - very lively, agile goalie and a rock and foundation of the team right now," Sheringham said when asked to pick Tottenham's best goalkeeper as part of new book 'Down Memory Lane.'
Lloris' contract at Spurs expires in 2019 and Jan Vertonghen urged the club to tie down the goalkeeper's long term future earlier this month.
The Belgian told Standard Sport: "I hope Hugo is the next one to agree a new deal. It's important to keep this team together, especially quality players like him.
"I wouldn't swap him for any keeper in world football."
