The Frenchman has been in superb form for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season, keeping a total of 15 clean sheets in 30 top-flight performances.
The Spurs goalkeeper's latest shut out was in the final north London derby to be staged at White Hart Lane and he is on course to secure the individual accolade for the first time in his career in English football.
A total of 16 clean sheets has been enough to win the award in each of the last four seasons but Lloris may need to better such a figure with two of his rivals still in the running.
Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United's David De Gea both have 14 clean sheets and will be hopeful they can usurp Lloris as the finish line approaches.
Yet questions marks over the pair's potential game time during the final stretch of the campaign remain.
Courtois has handed the Blues an injury scare after injuring his ankle in Sunday's 3-0 win over Everton.
The Belgian completed 90 minutes at Goodison Park, despite limping during the latter stages of the game, and has vowed to play through the pain barrier as Antonio Conte's side attempt to see out the title.
De Gea has missed just one Premier League fixture for Jose Mourinho's side this season.
But the Portuguese manager's suggestion he may rest key players with one eye on the Red Devils' Europa League campaign may see De Gea benched at some point, which would be likely to hand another advantage to Lloris.
Meanwhile, Southampton's Fraser Forster (12) and Burnley's Tom Heaton (10) have also achieved respectable clean sheet tallies this season.
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is at the front of the chasing pack with a total of nine, highlighting the Gunners' defensive struggles.
But the 34-year-old remains the division's joint most successful goalkeeper since the Golden Glove's inception, having won the award of four occasions.
Joe Hart, who is currently on loan at Torino from Manchester City, has also claimed the prize four times.
