Antonio Conte has already brought in Michy Batshauyi to strengthen his Chelsea front line this summer, but could now face a tough decision ahead of the new Premier League season.
Standard Sport understands that Chelsea are close to re-signing Everton's Romelu Lukaku for £60million after seeing two bids rejected for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, with Zinedine Zidane stating that the Spain international will remain at the Bernabeu.
The deal for Lukaku means that Chelsea will be paying over £30m to buy back the Belgium international they sold to Everton for £28m just two years ago.
Lukaku was first signed by Chelsea for £18m from Anderlecht in 2011, but started just one League match in three years.
With first team opportunities hard to come by, he was sent away on season-long loans in 2012 and 2013, before joining Everton on a permanent basis.
The 23-year-old has flourished away from the capital, having scored 45 goals in the last two years, including a fine brace to knock Chelsea out of the FA Cup Quarter Finals in March.
With Lukaku closing in on a Stamford Bridge return, Conte has confirmed that Diego Costa's Chelsea future is uncertain and cannot guarantee the striker will stay in west London for the coming campaign.
Costa's former club Atletico Madrid, who sold him to Chelsea for £32m in 2014, have spent all summer trying to lure back to Vicente Calderon.

Chelsea have insisted throughout that the 27-year-old is not for sale and have written two warning letters to the La Liga club to tell them to stop pursuing him.
