Jim Magilton slams QPR after shock defeat

11 April 2012

Jim Magilton accused his Queens Park Rangers players of complacency after losing 2-0 at Doncaster.

The Rangers boss has demanded they up their workrate again ahead of Saturday's match with Coventry at Loftus Road.

He said: "We looked like we had lads who had been reading nice things about themselves. But these lads are playing for me, so I can't be too hard on them. It's a lesson learned. We've got a big week ahead of us."

While Rangers struggled it was a good weekend for Heidar Helguson, who is on loan at Watford from QPR as he scored twice in a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe.

Watford are now eighth in the Championship and manager Malky Mackay said: "To score three goals, keep a clean sheet, and another three points is certainly very pleasing."

Neil Warnock hailed Darren Ambrose after he gave Crystal Palace the lead in their 1-1 draw at Coventry, sweeping in a low cross from Freddie Sears.

The Palace manager said: "Darren is in good form but I think there is even more to come from him."
