Jose Mourinho has hit back at Tottenham fans singing about him being sacked as Manchester United were beaten 3-0 at Old Trafford on Monday.

The manager's future at United was thrown into serious doubt after the humbling at home, though Standard Sport understands the board have no intention of sacking Mourinho at this time.

Mourinho responded in the immediate aftermath by claiming United beat Spurs from both a strategic and tactical point of view, before on Friday insisting his remains "one of the best managers in the world".

The Portuguese also had a response to the jubilant travelling fans, recalling a different mood from the Spurs support when United triumphed in last season's FA Cup semi-final.

"They didn't have that song when we beat them at Wembley a couple of months ago," he told reporters.

"A cup final they had a big dream to go to, a title they had a big dream to win, because they don't win many. Of course they were not singing that [then]."

United are looking for their second win of the season when they travel to Burnley on Sunday afternoon as Tottenham travel to Watford looking to maintain their 100 per cent record.
