Standard Sport15 February 2015

Jose Mourinho has welcomed an extended break in the build-up to Chelsea's Champions League last-16 match against Paris Saint Germain.

Mourinho's side last played in a narrow victory over Everton on Wednesday night and won't feature again until they visit the Parc des Princes on Tuesday evening.

The six-day break will hand Chelsea a psychological advantage before they face PSG, who let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 with Caen in Paris on Saturday.

Laurent Blanc's men - who finished with nine men as Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura left the field with injuries after the Ligue 1 champions had used all three substitutes - will have just over 72 hours to recover for the visit of Chelsea.

"The rest is welcome for us. In the end they have only one game that we don't have," the Mourinho said.

"It's only one more game but I welcome this rest for the players."
