Leeds United documentary 'Take Us Home': Two new Premier League promotion episodes released

Matt Davies17 September 2020

The second season of Leeds United's 'Take Us Home' Amazon Prime documentary has now been released.

The new instalment comes just over a year after the first was shown on Amazon, whereby Marcelo Bielsa's first season in charge was documented in six episodes, ultimately ending in Championship play-off defeat to Derby.

Amazon kept the cameras rolling as Bielsa guided the club back to England's top flight for the first time in 16 years, however, with two more 45-minute episodes now available.

A short clip (above) provides a brief glimpse into the series, with Luke Ayling and Kalvin Philips appearing in their first pre-season weigh-ins.

New Zealand-born actor Russell Crowe - who narrated the first series - has returned once more.

On the series, he said: "I've loved Leeds all my life. I used to come home from playing sport when I was a kid to sit down and watch Match of the Day with my brother, and I was just hooked.

"After years of pain, seeing the white army marching on together back to the Premier League where they should be has given me nothing but pleasure.

"To be able to help tell the incredible story of the past two seasons through Take Us Home has been a real honour."

Prime Video's head of content UK Martin Backlund added: "We are thrilled to be able to bring Prime Video viewers a new season definitively covering the team's historical promotion.

"The 2019/2020 season saw not only Leeds United win a long-awaited and hard-earned promotion, but also documented the club through the most historic and unexpected of seasons.

"This series will join the prestigious collection of sports documentaries already exclusively available on Prime Video such as All Or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur and Andy Murray: Resurfacing."
