Lennie could quit Palace, too

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish today revealed that Dougie Freedman wants to take assistant manager Lennie Lawrence and first-team coach Curtis Fleming to Bolton.

Freedman was confirmed as Owen Coyle’s replacement this morning and is keen for the duo, who took charge of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Barnsley, to join him at the Reebok.

Parish said: “It’s fair to say that is probably what Dougie wants and I think we’ve got to look at it.

“I know Lennie is just an unbelievably professional bloke that will do a great job for us, up to the point he goes.

“It would be a difficult decision but he’s become very close to Dougie, they have worked together very closely.

“There will be a very grown-up conversation with Lennie about what we are going to do.”
