Leyton Orient's have avoided going out of business after the winding-up petition against the club was dismissed at the High Court.

After settling outstanding debts with creditors, they avoided the threat of liquidation.

Orient owed around £35,000 to the London Borough of Waltham Forest in relation to the rental of Score Centre, a community centre opposite the Matchroom Stadium. They also had an outstanding debt of £18,664 to Central Circle Event Management Ltd in relation to the supply of matchday stewards. Orient also owed their club photographer £6,000. But all creditors have now been paid in full.

Orient first appeared in court in March but the hearing was adjourned, with owner Francesco Becchetti pledging to inject £1million to pay unpaid bills.

The club have since been relegated from the Football League after finishing bottom of League Two. Becchetti was not at the High Court in central London but fans packed into the courtroom and others waited for news outside.
