Liverpool XI vs Man City: Nunez out - Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League game today

Matt Verri16 October 2022

Jurgen Klopp dropped Darwin Nunez for Liverpool’s huge clash with Manchester City today,

After more than a month out with a knee injury, Andy Robertson came off the bench in the 7-1 win over Rangers to play just over 20 minutes and that was enough to persuade Jurgen Klopp to throw him into the Premier League side this afternoon.

On the opposite side of the pitch Trent Alexander-Arnold remains out and is replaced by James Milner.

However, the Frenchman has now also picked up a minor muscle injury and misses out.

Klopp was giving little away in his pre-match press conference, though did hint that there could be some extra injury concerns.

“We still have to figure out who is available after the Rangers game for the City game, and then we will make a lineup,” Klopp said. “We have to see, there are no final decisions yet. We have to see.”

Starting Liverpool XI: Alisson, Miner, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Elliott, Firmino, Salah, Jota

Time and date: 4:30pm BST, Sunday October 16, 2022

Venue: Anfield

Referee: Anthony Taylor, Andy Madley (VAR)
