Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has donated €5,000 to the fund in aid of Reds fan Sean Cox, who suffered life changing injuries following an attack by Roma fans last season.

It was revealed in court earlier this month that Cox, who was left in a coma following the attack by two Roma supporters at their Champions League semi-final tie last season can still not talk as a result of his injuries.

The fund, setup to support the 53-year-old’s recovery over a number of years, began earlier this month and has almost his €50,000 in donations.

Klopp followed his donation with a message of support to Cox, writing: “You’ll Never Walk Alone Best Wishes, Jurgen Klopp”.

In conjunction with Klopp’s donation, Liverpool also announced their support for the collection, with this weekend’s home game against Cardiff dedicated to raising awareness of the appeal with collections, advertising and promotions all around Anfield.
