Liverpool suffered an injury setback during their Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona as Naby Keita was forced off midway through the first half.

The Guinean signalled his inability to continue and was spotted clutching his groin as he left the Camp Nou pitch following a bright start.

Keita now looks a major doubt for the weekend trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

And, if he is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the 24-year-old would be a big miss for the remainder of the campaign.

After enduring a slow start to his Anfield career, Keita has come to the fore in recent weeks, as evidenced by hos goal tally of late.

The former RB Leipzig man came into the meeting with Barca having struck three times in his last five appearances.
