Harry Redknapp believes Loic Remy has wasted two years of his career at Chelsea and should leave the club to gain a regular starting spot in another team.
Chelsea signed Remy on a four-year deal from Queens Park Rangers, who were at the time managed by Redknapp, in 2014 following the striker's failed move to Liverpool and amid interest from Arsenal.
Despite coming in with high expectations on his shoulders, the France international endured a difficult time trying to usurp Diego Costa from Chelsea's starting line-up, and has made just 10 Premier League appearances this season due to a mixture of a lack of starts and injuries.
His situation meant Remy was looking likely to leave Chelsea on transfer deadline day - with Newcastle and Leicester having expressed an interest in recruiting the striker on loan - but a move away from Stamford Bridge ultimately failed to materialise.

With the 29-year-old now facing the challenge of fighting for a starting berth at Chelsea as he attempts to strengthen his chances of playing for France at this summer's European championship in his homeland, Redknapp believes Remy must leave the Blues if he wants to get his career back on track.
"When he left QPR I thought it was a bad move," Redknapp told talkSPORT. "He’s not got in the Chelsea team, he’s been very much a bit-part player.
"He’s a goalscorer and he’s a great finisher. He needs to play somewhere because at the moment he comes on for ten minutes at the end of the game and it’s no use to the boy.
"He’s wasted two years of his career."
